SMITH, Margaret Pamela (Marg).

Passed away after a long struggle with cancer.

Loving wife of Paul. Loving mother of Chris and Rosie (Perth), Nick and Mandy (Auckland), Sam (Perth), Joel and Leigh (Perth) and Forde (Perth).

A celebration of Marg’s life was held in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Tennyson Street, Napier on Monday September 2, 2013 followed by interment at the Western Hills Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation in Marg’s memory to Cranford Hospice would be appreciated and can be made via www.cranfordhospice.org.nz  Tributes may be left at our website www.dunstalls.co.nz . To Marg and Paul's families - my fond memories of Marg go back to our teenage years at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Gisborne and also with memories of wonderful picnics on the beach with both our families ( Smiths and Phillips )

We have more recent memories of staying with you for a few days at the wonderful French villa on the beach in Vanuatu - you were such wonderful hosts

Marg you were so passionate about life, loved it and lived it to the full.

Rest in peace - you have earnt it after your long brave battle with cancer - we will always remember you

To Marg's Family I had the priviledge of knowing Marg for a very brief time having met her at Ozanam House. Even though Marg was in a lot of pain she was still the kindest, loveliest lady who showed compassion for others. I will remember Marg for her smile, her hope and gentle manner. Marg was such a brave lady whom I was lucky enough to meet on my journey. Rest in peace Marg love Kim x

Hello Margs family
I have only just heard the sad news. My sincere condolences. I wish I could have attended her funeral.
Marg was special in so many ways. Always positive no matter what was happening. She lived her life with joy and determination and I know she would have been trying to make things better for everyone else even with her last struggles.
I worked with Marg at Waitomo News and she was a great boss, a wonderful friend and she inspired me to enjoy life, to always look for the positive.
I admired her determination, good humour and great spirit.
Luckily I did catch up with her in more recent times even though we had both headed off in different directions. I knew the battle she had taken on was a tough one but this lady was dignified and courageous. Be proud of her. I will remember her as a person who loved her family, loved life and always had time for other people. Go well Marg, have no more pain. Love Fritha

Marg, you were simply the best! The best boss and the best friend ever:) I shall treasure my wonderful memories of our fun times at the Waitomo News, I think you should have growled us more! Ha ha.

Dearest Marg, Thank you being such an amazing friend for the last 53 years, I just can't imagine you not being in my life, my heart aches for you, your lovely boys, Paul, and your delightful dad Jack, and your loving sisters and brother, Ann, June, Alison and Graham. Rest in peace my friend.
