Passed peacefully on August 10, 2014 at HB Regional Hospital with family present. Aged 92 years.

Beloved wife of the late Louw. Loved mother of Marika and Joop (Holland) and Cedric and Michelle (Napier). Loved Oma of Danielle and Edward, Michael and Joelle; Roydon, Angela and James, and great grandson Hayden.

A heartfelt thanks to the staff at HBRH and Princess Alexandra Retirement Village, Duchess Wing for their care of Rita.

A farewell for Rita was held in the Dunstall Memorial Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier, on Thursday, August 14 and followed by interment at the Wairoa New Cemetery. Tributes may be left at our website www.dunstalls.co.nz    Or posted to the Lei Family, c/- PO Box 1055, Napier 4140.

Marika is our sister in law and we wish Marika and Rick and families
much strenght during these days of sadness.
You all are in our minds.

Mrs. Lei. (The last time I saw her she said, "Call me Rita." I said I couldn't do that. To me, she always was and always will be, Mrs. Lei.) Rick and I were best friends throughout our school years. I spent most afternoons and many evenings at the Leis. Both Mr and Mrs Lei made a huge impact on my life with their warmth, kindness and generosity. I can still hear her exuberantly say in her lovely Dutch accent every time I arrived, "Hel-loo Mark!" And next thing, out would come cups of tea and a plate full of Snax biscuits with tomato on top. I used to (and loved) getting into sometimes fiery debates with Mr. Lei who would occasionally get a bit worked up. Mrs Lei would interrupt and strongly admonish Mr. Lei who would immediately calm down!
Mrs. Lei, you were the epitome of grace, wisdom and goodness and I am so grateful that you were a part of my life.

Fond memories of a lovely lady.A true friend to the late Alie and the late Cor Wijnolts (Wairoa) and 'Tante Riek' to their children Geurt, Jannie and Astrid. Gracious hostess of Geurt and Zena's engagement party (1971) and many more visits over the years. Her love of children will be remembered by ours.

Our condoleances for the family. I am the daughter of Tjibbe Lei.
My father was 66 when he passed away. I am glad that Tante Riek was 92. And the family was with her.
