Bauckham, Hester Ada (nee Macnab) QSM. Napier Citizens Award. On March 28, 2015 peacefully at Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital, aged 84 years. Loved wife of the late Bill. Loved Mother of Donald, Jill and Bruce. Best friend to Kate, Jim and Abbi. Nana of Thomas, Jamaica and Jessica.

A memorial service to celebrate Hester’s life will be held at The Dunstall Memorial Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier, tomorrow Wednesday at 2pm. Hester’s orders were that everyone is to be dressed in bright clothing.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Taradale RSA welfare fund would be appreciated and may be left in the entrance to the Chapel.

We are so sorry not to be able to attend the funeral today. Hester was a very special person and our lives touched in many ways particularly when we were younger. Warm regards to the family and we will be in touch further. Phyllida and Bryan

Jill, Jim and Thomas our thoughts are with you and the Bauckham family today as you say farewell to Hester. She will be remembered, not only for being a Mother and a grandmother, but a great community minded person who was out there "walking the talk" for many years for a lot of people and organisations. A champion of getting things done and a life well lived. There will be people like us who cannot be there today but will, never the less, be just as sad at her passing . Rest in peace Hester.

Sincere sympathy on the loss of your loved Mum - a very colourful lady who I have known for over 50 years - sorry cannot make the funeral, but thinking of you and remembering Hester with love. She was a person who made you feel so special. Val/Dave Sunnex

A truly special lady. Her opinion was always respected (and heard)! Had many laughs with her and really enjoyed our lunches with Heather Robertson, Robyn Coyle and others.
