(nee Fischer).

Passed away peacefully on August 12, 2016 surrounded by her beloved family. Aged 88 years. 

Loving wife of the late Ross, adored and much loved mum and mum-in-law of Kay and Peter, John and Sharron, and Debbie and Ernie. Treasured Nana of Dean, Brett, Fleur, Danny, Glenn, Richard, Chelsea, Ross and Shaun. Adored Great Nana of 14 and Great Great Nana of 2. Precious sister of the late Avis, loved aunty and cherished friend of many.

Special thanks to Princess Alexandra Duchess Wing Staff, Dr William Thompson and Dr Mark Claxton.

Ethne's celebration of life was held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Tait Drive, Greenmeadows East on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1pm, followed by internment at the Wharerangi Cemetery.

 

 

Sorry we are so late hearing of your loss. Our warm thoughts and prayers are with the whole family, and especially with you Debby. You have impressed us with your consistent care for your mother over recent years.

When I think of all the times spent with my only aunt on my mum's side (being her only sibling) I always have a smile, yaye. even a chuckle because she was one of a rare breed - always saw the bright and humorous side to all situations and great fun to be with.

I will always remember an Aunty who shared so many family occasions over the early years of my life. I recall happy times when our families got together and celebrated Christmas, Easter, and birthdays and anniversaries. Staying at Aunty Ethne's was always an adventure up on the hill or out on the farm for me as a child. As an adult, I enjoyed many conversations where I benefitted from her experience, wisdom and interest in our mutual love of design and my family life in general. Her visits to see my Mum (Avis) at Victoria Point were special to both myself and Mum. I am looking forward to catching up with her over a cuppa after Jesus comes.
