In Loving memory of Ian Charles Waterson. Loving husband of the late Gwen Waterson. Ian passed away peacefully at Summerset in the Bay 2.11.2022.

Loving father to Alistair,  Stephen & Jason. Father in law to Pauline,  Adele and Cheryl. 

Grandfather to Ben, James, Grace,  Stella & Zarah.

A private service is being held by the family. 

In lieu of flowers a request for a donation to Hawkes Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust.

To Steve and Polly. We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Pops, and wish to extend our deepest condolences to both of you, Jason, Alistair, Adele, Cheryl and his extended family at this very sad time. Sending our love and prayers to you all. A true gentleman, always a pleasure to chat with and gave us such a warm and loving welcome when we first met in NZ in 1998 which we still remember with such fondness. He will be dearly missed. We were very sorry to hear that Ian had passed away. We send our sincerest condolences to Steve & the Waterson family. We have very fond memories of the time we spent at the farmhouse at Mangakuri when Pauline & Steve were married. We shared the bed with lovely Abbey the cat. Ian & Gwen were so kind & looked after us & everyone there. We will always remember that time & their wonderful hospitality.

Deepest sympathy to Steve and the extended Waterson family on the death of Ian. I will always be grateful for the warm hospitality, kindness and generosity Ian and Gwen gave us when we were in NZ for Pauline and Steve's wedding it will never be forgotten. May Ian rest in peace. I personally didn't have a lot to do with Ian but reconnected in Summerset always enjoying our little chats. My late husband Mike was very fond of Ian. He often used Ian and the farm for his research projects always enjoying his company and knowledge over a cuppa on the farm. They be talking farming up above now.

My thoughts are with you all in sad passing of your dad last week. It’s been a very long time since I saw you all, and have memories of being with you all, uncle Ian and Aunty Gwenie at the farm years ago. I’m sure he will be reunited with Gwen. So sorry for your loss.
