Passed away peacefully at Mary Doyle Lifestyle Village, Havelock North, surrounded with love.

Adored and devoted husband of Dorothy for 57 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law to David and Janet, Gina, Leigh and Greg. Fun loving Fin to Zachary, Ethan, and Joshua.  Loved brother and brother-in-law to Barry and June, Roger and Lyn, Gloria

A service of thanksgiving was held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Tennyson Street, Napier on Wednesday, 3 May 2023 at 11am, followed by private cremation.

i have lovely memories of Ian and his family right from teenage years. he always had a twinkle in his eyes was a great family man with a lovely wife Dorothy, also a great runner and was always busy in the community. we stayed with ian and dorothy at the Spanish Lady motel, and they both were great hosts. a link in our family chain has been broken, but the memories go on. lots of love to the family june krebs

To all the Finlayson Family. Ian was known to us through Taradale Rotary for many years. His warm and friendly personality plus his contribution towards whatever Rotary was currently involved in greatly benefited the community. Glad to have known him. May he rest in peace.
