We were sorry to learn of Grace’s passing
I remember Dad & his brothers talking about their sister & all the fun they got up to together on the farm, sifting through Misters clothing fire ashes for the coins.
Mister was an elderly bachelor farmer, Mr Fitzpatrick, known to the kids as Mister. Each year he would get a new suit of clothes & burn the old one without emptying the pockets.
As brothers do, they teased Grace, once when she went away for the holidays, the boys told her of the fun they had, parties, swimming and other hijinks they had got up to while she was away, just to wind her up. Of course, this never happened as they had to work on the farm.
One of Grace’s jobs was to set the table each night, If Mister was a guest, she would entertain him instead of doing her chores.
We remember Grace as a bundle of energy, full of life & humour who will be sorely missed.

A beautiful service for a beautiful lady. A very special person whom I have had the privilege to know for many years, starting at the Abbotsford Home in Waipawa
As it has been said in the tributes for her, Grace had a lovely smile for everyone and always saw the best in the people that she met.A wonderful sense of humour and loads of fun.
Unable to be there in person at Grace’s funeral but with the amazing technology that we now enjoy—-I was able to participate in the service. Thankyou

Great service with lots of representative memories. As the minister said, Mum enjoyed sharing her love providing a beautiful model for us to emulate. Thanks to all for a beautiful service of celebration.

Well will miss our Nana Grace. We enjoyed our annual trips to Napier to hear some of her many stories of places she had been and family activities that had been undertaken. Glad Andrea can be there to represent our family. Love to the wider family on the day. We hope to be watching online.
