Maria van der Linden

Dearly loved wife of the late Wim and much-loved Mum to Sophia & Bob, Stephen, Anna-Marie & Mike, John & Ana, Helen & Alan, Lucy & Grant, passed away peacefully, aged 93 on 11 October 2024. A treasured Grandma to 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, Maria led a remarkable and inspiring life.

 

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at St Patrick’s Church Napier, 2pm Saturday, 26 October.

Maria, you were one of the most beautiful, kind, loving, caring, resilient women I have ever met and been blessed to spend time with. Thank you for all the amazing conversations we had over the years, and the memories and photos I have of you with Mila, your great grand-daughter. She will surely cherish these for years to come. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the immediate and extended family on the loss of such an incredible lady.

My sympathy and kind wishes to you all on Maria's death. I had a great connection with Maria & Wim as their accountant, setting up Linden Estate winery through to the challenges on its sale. Maria has been a wonderful person, clever, stoic and kind and I cherish the book she wrote on her early life and her move to New Zealand.
My apologies but we will be away from Hawkes Bay on the day of her funeral.
